Ownder wants to sell - I Live in the House and Pay the Mortgage

What is the name of your state? Oregon

A friend of mine purchased the home that I live in but never moved in himself. My name is not on the title; however, I have paid the mortgage to the lender since the home was purchased. My friend and I went into this as a joint venture.

Now the friend wants to sell the house. I want to buy the house from him, but he now thinks he can get more money on the market. What are my rights? I am the only one who has lived in the home and have made all of the payments. Can he sell it out from under me?

**A: since you are not on the title, he can sell from under you.
File a suit for partition right away.
