Please Help!!!!

We built our house on a portion of my uncles land last Feb. Now that that credit card minimum payment law is going into effect in october my uncle might have to file bankruptcy. we were told that if he files bankrupcy that WE would lose some of our stuff because we were on his land. For example my mom is paying for a 2003 Cavailer. If he doesnt file bankrupcy and he owes the credit card companies what can THEY do. I might not be wording this right but can SOMEONE please help me understand what credit card companies and filing for bankrupcy can actually do with YOUR stuff.
