We live in florida and have had an inground pool constructed. One of the subcontractors notified that he was not paid and the pool company is preparing to declare chapter 7. We have paid the pool company for all of the work. What can we do to avoid a lien being placed on our property?
Do we have any legal recourse? The pool company has given us a complete satisfaction of lien. Can we sue them for fraud?

I think you'll have to pay the subcontractor again, unless the sub also signed the lien satisfaction form. Get thee to a real estate/lien attorney immediately. You may be entitled to the status of a priority creditor in BK court.
