Possible encroachment Louisiana

We have a drainage ditch that runs behind our property. When we bought the property, we were told that the property line was in the middle of the ditch. Our home was turnkeyed and bought from a builder who did not say anything about a possible encroachment. Our neighbors think the property line is somewhere on the other side of the ditch. If that is so, our neighbor's shed in on our property. We have lived here for about 4 years and the shed has been there since we moved in. Any advice on how to handle this situation?

**A: you should have ordered a survey when you first bought. You still need one.
