There is a shopping center (grocery store strip mall) that is being proposed for a lot within 300 feet of my house. What legal avenues do I have to fight this development? How will it affect my property value?

You need to find out what that property is zoned for. If its zoned for business you probably do not have a stand in court. However if they have filed for change in zoning you cna attend the hearing and voice your concerns there.

Depending on your area, this could raise your value of your property.
