What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Alabama
We recently put up a fence "on" our property for our 3 cows. Our neighbors do not want cows next door even though we are in the country. They argued we had our fence on them. They had their property surveyed and found out that at one end of the property we are 4" on our side of property line and the other end we are 9" on our side of property line. Can we put the fence exactly on the property line or does it have to be so many inches or feet off property line? This seems to give the neighbors part of our land. Also, there is a tree that is on the property line but sets 9" on us and 3" on the neighbors. Can we cut down tree? And last, when the neighbors had their land surveyed (there were stakes from a survey they had done a couple years ago because of a divorce)already in the ground. The surveyors last week put little flags along with the stakes. The neighbors took up all stakes and flags. We put more stakes in the holes but the neighbors pulled these up also. Once again we added new stakes. What can be done about pulling up these stakes? The surveyors proved the neighbors are wrong about us being on them with our fence so they are really upset now. What can we do? We are really tired of being harrassed.
