Wash, DC - Wanting to buy a piece of property still "owned" by a disolved church. Church disolved in 1949. Property has been vacant and unused since. Property tax was paid by an estate of a dead woman by mistake for the last 50 years so the city never took the property. No one has any association with the church any longer to sell it. I want to lay claim to the property. Can I?

You certainly can make an offer to the legal owner.

I'm sorry you didn't see what i said. It is "owned" on the deed by a church that no longer exsists. There is no "owner" to make an offer to. I am trying to figure out what to do. No one at city hall knows what to do either. I have been there in so many departments for the last four days. Please help.

I'm sorry but the estate of the dead woman comes the closest to being an owner. If not fax your offer to God.
