A question about disclosure statements

What is the name of your state? illinois

laast year we bought a house and the amount of taxes was less than what we were paying for the previous house we owned, this year we got a letter from the mortgage company saying that our taxes were significantly higher than what was listed on the disclosure statement. Is there anuthing that we can do about this issue, or wa it our responsibility to check out how much the taxes were. We have lost everything that we had in escrow because of not being told the correct amount that the taxes were.

Thank YouWhat is the name of your state?

Are you saying the taxes for the year that was prorated at closing were higher when the bill came out?

Are you saying the taxes on the home just went up for the first year you were responsible?

If the first scenario have you looked at your paperwork to determine if a shortage was addressed and if so what does it say?

You can always caller the agents/Atty involved and ask them to make up the shortage but unless it is addressed in your contracts/closing papers I doubt they have any obligation to give you anything.

Rates are absolutely outrageous in Illinois
