I saw somewhere in here where Quit claim deeds can add or remove a person from a deed. My boyfriend and I have split. I purchased a house about 7 years ago. The mortgage is in my name. About 6 months after purchase I quit claim deeded him on the deed. What can I do now that we are split up to get his name off the deed. Selling is not an option right now. Out of seven years he has only paid his share to live here. Is there a way to get him off the deed without selling. He claims he is entitled to half of my house now and when I pay off the mortgage. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We live in Florida.
