Quit claim process

I have a quit claim deed from my ex. I live in Va. and habitate the property in question. What do I do with this deed now? Do I need to file it with someone? I do not have a loan company. We purchased from the previous onwer and he financed us. Does he need to reissue anything?

The deed should be recorded such that title is solely in your name.
Be sure you get title insurance.
