Release Of Mortgage

I own a condo in Connecticut (9 years). Trying to refinance.
A release of Mortgage was never filed on title.
My closing attorney cannot be found and the original sellers attorney cannot be found so I have no idea who the underlying mortgage lender is that got paid off.

Where or what can I do to find who the underlying mortgage lender is that got paid off? This issue is holding up my refinancing.

Any info is much appreciated.

Have the title company provide a copy of the mortgage document. The lender name and contact info should be there and on the prom note.
