in legal terms, what does "return of the consideration" mean?
does it mean an offer has been rejected and the "consideration"
(proposal) is returned and not accepted?

it is an easement, right of way agreement in louisiana.
the grantor does not want to be liable for any damage the
grantee may do on the proprerty. one part reads: "the
servitude is granted without warranty of any kind by or recourse against the grantor whatsoever, not even for the return of the consideration."

"the servitude is granted without warranty of any kind by or recourse against the grantor whatsoever, not even for the return of the consideration."

Simply, this means that the Grantor (or seller) is granting the allowance to the Grantee (buyer or user) without any guarantees and that the Grantee has no recourse back against the Grantor for any reason, not even for the consideration (amount paid for the right). Once done, the Grantee (buyer or user) has ALL responsibility and cannot take ANY action against the Grantor.
