We signed a 5 year commercial lease. The property owner's lawyer is stating that since we (lessee) verbally agreed to pay the real estate taxes we are responsible to pay. However, the lease we signed states the leesor (property owner) is responsible for the real estate taxes. Do we have a leagal and binding lease? Can it be broken by the lessor becasue they are stating a "scribner's error" occurred because we verbally agreed to pay for the real estate taxes but this didn't end up in the lease.

The written lease agreement takes precedence over the verbal agreement although if you agreed to pay the taxes you should.
