Can anyone help?? My mother is trying to sell her home. It is currently zoned Multi-family/residential. She owns a single family home. All the property surounding her is income producing property. She lives on a busy intersection. To her east is a nursing home, to the west is an apartment building, to the south is a assisted living facility and a parking lot for two large office buldings, to her north is a converted home into an office, a bank. a Bob Evans Restaurant, a Wendy's, and Hampton Inn Hotel. She is up in years and needs to live on a one story home or condo. She cannot to stairs because of her health. Like I mentioned earlier, the home is on a busy, busy intersection. The home has been on the market for over a year. The only interested buyers are people who want to convert it to an office because of the location. No one wants to live there because of the surrounding properties. We have been trying to get it re-zoned to commercial/office use, but the city of Westlake,Ohio claims spot zoning is completely illegal. Is this true? I understood under hardship cases this can be done. Please help!!
