What is the name of your state?louisiana
What is the law in louisiana about sqatters rights? I think that it is if a land is occupied openly for 25 years and there is no contestment then the land belongs to the "squatter" is this correct?

**A: no it is not correct.
The squatter would have to file an adverse possession claim, prevail on the claim via qualifications pursuant to the State stautes and be awarded the property by the Court.
