Stablemans Lien-

What is the name of your state? Massachusetts

I own 4 show Horses, which I keep at a local farm.
I pay $100.00 per horse stall-for Self-Board, Meaning=I supply ALL feed, bedding, care, work. I just rent the stalls .
Over the winter months-I purchased Hay from the owner-which she has just billed me for at Double our agreed Rate!!
Now I receive a letter written By Her-Stating, "That she has placed a Lien on my 4 horses, for the amount due of $2,200.00" " If this is not paid in full by August 9, She will Take Possesion of all horses"

1. I have been making weekly payments to her for 2 months now-Have all receipts.
2. These 4 horses are valued at $20, 000.
3. She has NO Court order

Is this legal??
Can she take possesion of my animals, after accepting weekly payments??
Will she need a Court Order??
Can I move my horses out of her property???

PLEASE HELP!
Thank U!

I'm not sure how a lien on horses is a real estate matter.

You may want to try reposting in Consumer Law as this was some type of contract for goods or services.

There is no such instrument as a Stableman's lien. Go get your horses and keep paying her.

She must go to court to get a judgement against you before she can legally place a lien against any of your property.
