Storm waterWhat is the name of your state? Pennsylvania I am having an ongoing problem with water, rocks, topsoil from a neighbor's yard draining into my driveway, and I am worried the water will go into my garage and basement. The neighbor told me that "water drains downhill" and it is my responsibility to alter my landscaping or put in pipes. I did not have this problem before the neighbor built his home and landscaped. Do I have a legal right to complain about this water and debris, or is it something that I have to correct myself? |

| There are some fairly simple "fixes" for surface water runoff, including catch basins, grating and channel drains, etc. This is a product catalog showing some stuff I used. Perhaps your neighbor might agree to install a sytem on the lot line or before? Check with your municipality (building inspection?) to see what he is mandated to provide if there is a newly created runoff issue.

| Check with your local municipality on the rules for directing runoff water onto someones elses property. It may be that you neighbor is the one responsible to install corrective measures to keep his runoff away from your property.
