Question

Tax credit for land given to charity?

What is the name of your state? Missouri

My boss wants me to find a charity to take a small lot (35x110)of land in St. Louis County. He wants to gain a tax credit from this. (The neighbors are not interested in buying ajoining land) Habitat for Humanity doesn't want such a small lot. Does anyone have any suggestions for me. I'd like to contact the County Police Department. But will they qualify for a tax break? What other Charities can I contact that would be interested in land?

Thank you for any information.

***Yearly taxes per year approx. $100.
***Zoned for residential use.
***Possibly a Police Sub-Station use?

What could the land be used for and what are the real property taxes yearly?

How has he tried to market this property? Sounds like it may be worthless or of such low valuation that the cost of giving it away, appraisals ect will make this a prime property for a sheriff sale.
