tenancy in common questionWhat is the name of your state? GA. Wife is one of three sisters that own inherited house equally. One sister lives in house and pays no rent to others. All three share tax liabilities. Occupant sister says other 2 sisters are required to share maintenance costs in addition to taxes. Non-occupant sisters say no. Who is right? Thanks for the response HomeGuru, although it is not what I had hoped. Maybe you can shed some light on our dilemma. Should we ask the occupant sis to start paying rent to the others or should we initiate partition by sale proceedings and let the court settle the matter? |
