If two people own property as tenants in common and there is no TIC agreement designating percentage of ownership and who is responsible for taxes, maintenance, etc. how is that determined? Trying to get co-owner to pay for maintenance and taxes.

Each owner is severally liable for the entire tax, loan payment, etc... With no statement on the deed as to proportion, equal shares are assumed.

You can then act against each other for t he "fair share".
