does a quit claim deed provide the same ownership of a property as a title?

we live in michigan and a friend would like to quit claim deed
some land to us. do we need to purse title of the property
to be considered the owners? we would someday like to
build a vacation home on this property and want to be sure
there is no question of our ownership. the land is located near
some county property that provides water access to its residence and i want to make sure the county or its reisdence that use the access feel that our land is part of the county property.

A quit claim deed is a title transfer document. Make sure that an attorney reviews the deed as there must be a correct legal description of the property. Also get title insurance.
