TN HOA Laws

We have a cabin in TN that has a HOA where the president pays no HOA dues and the other 2 board members get their dues reduced 50% They also get free airfare to the meetings. This "HOA board" is now proposing a 57% increase in dues. Isn't this a conflict of interest? Can someone please help send me in the right direction to find the TN laws set up for HOAs. There is nothing in the Deed or By-Laws, it was a proposal made & voted on at one of the board meetings. This proposal was made 3 years ago, and now the current board just rotates positions to take advantage of these "perks".

We've had access to our house for 30+ years and we were going to refinance but were told we don't have legal access. There is one other homeowner off of this road and they did refinance a while back. They do not have a piece of paper stating legal access. There are also several other land owners off of this road. Is Idaho a no landlock state? What about using the road for so long are we not entitled to have legal access?
