My mother is in financial trouble. I believe she just missed her third mortgage payment possibly starting the foreclosure process on her house. She owns four adjacent empty land parcels (which are fully paid for), but has just not paid the last two installments of the property tax bill on her house or the four vacant lots. I realize that the unpaid property tax will accrue interest, but how long before the overdue taxes + interest will result in the local or state government trying to sell the land parcels for unpaid back taxes?
