I purchased my home in Missouri after a one year contract for deed. Before the first payment was due my contract was sold without my notice. I never received a payment book or bill and contacted the title company who assured me to wait for my first bill. The first bill came from a company I never heard of and was 2 months past due. Along with the bill was a letter stating they had attained my contract and I was to have been notified within 15 days from both companies of the tranfer. I was demanded to pay the past due balance in full that day and no payment arrangements would be accepted and no promises not to forclose. I have arranged to meet with a lawyer and told the mortgage company of this meeting and that no payments will be made untill speaking with the lawyer. The company agreed on 7-26-00 to wait one week for further notice, on 7-29-00 I was called by the company and demanded to pay 3 months totaling $785.73 on 7-31-00 or else. Can they do this if its there fault I was not notified? Please help, time is running out and I do not have that kind of money.

You owe the contracted payments even though the mortgage company has changed and you do not have the money. Have your lawyer send them a letter of explanation.
