Verbal agreement

What is the name of your state? Florida

I had a verbal agreement with a friend to buy her home for $100,000.00 . Based on that agreement I began making improvements. In all $8000.00 was spent out of pocket. The seller has had change of heart and now is asking for twice the amount. I know she doesn't have to sell it to me for what we agreed on originally. My question to you is am I entitled to be reimbursed for what I have spent.

My response:

Unless you can prove that you made the expenditures at her request and insistence, then no.

verbal agreement

The improvements were necessary to make the home livable. She knows that I only spent the money for the repairs because I was buying and not renting. Can she promise to sell me the home, have me fix it up and not honor any part of our agreement or be accountable for having made a verbal agreement under false pretences?

My response:

1. Did you read AND understand what I wrote?

2. "Verbal" agreements concerning property purchases are UNENFORCEABLE.

3. Unless you can PROVE that she asked you to make the improvements, then you spent the money on your own, without permission, and you're not entitled to any money back. PERIOD.
