What is the first steps in claiming Adverse Possession?

Kentucky. I realize that the laws are different from state to state, but does anyone know what the first few steps would be in an "adverse possession" claim? I do not mean to sound un-appreciative, but getting an answer like, "Ask your lawyer" or something of that nature doesn't help me at all. I have talked to several lawyers and CAN NOT GET THEM TO UNDERSTAND! I am only asking because I want to know a little something about the Adverse Possession laws in any state so that I can make a decision on whether or not to hire a lawyer. All I want to know is the basics, like what to do first. I have been served papers for an eviction hearing and I do not want to say the wrong thing and lose my rights. This property/home was swindled from me and my family and I am trying to get it back. But 99% of the people I talk to about this do not understand and act like I am trying to "rip off" the people who have actually ripped me off! Please help!

Yeah, can anyone help?
Does anyone care?
And if you do help, don't say "ask your lawyer" because it doesn't help at all.
And don't tell the writer to look at the information already on this website or do a search on the real estate law forum using search words adverse possession, cause apparently that won't help either.

I wholeheartedly appreciate any advise intended to help my situation. But HomeGuru's response to my question seems to be sarcastic in nature. Did I offend you (HomeGuru) in some way? I apologize to you (and anyone else) if I have. To the contrary of HomeGuru's sarcastic remark, I have searched this web site for previous post and would appreciate other web site suggestions that could help answer my question and situation in any way no matter how small it may seem. I would prefer a web site where I can get a response(s) from its members who are wanting to help and not from a 10,000+ poster who is trying to be clever with their sarcasm. Maybe HomeGuru is justified in their comment in this post. But one thing is for sure, it was not meant to be taken the way HomeGuru explained it. And to you HomeGuru, thanks for being so considerate during my time of crisis. You help make it feel so much better. I just can't wait until you next response. I wonder what kind of wit and sarcasm you have in store for me now! I am sure I forgot to mention something or said something wrong. Well at least you can critique it. Lets see how bad you can make it sound and then show everyone else how clever you are with your sarcasm!
