| From N.Y. I need help. I signed a mortage agreement for a friend of mine to buy a house. This friend is married but his wife had bad credit so she was not put on the title or any papers associated with the house. Presently, they are seeking divorce and I am worried about what will happen with the house if she gets custody of the children therefore she gets custody of the house. Is there any way that I can get my name off title, deeds, etc. so as to protect my credit? |

| Title and deeds have nothing to do with your credit. The big issue is tha you are on the mortgage and need to be taken off. The only way is if someone assumed the mortgage (assuming it is assumable) or the property is sold with Buyer getting new financing. |
