Will I lose home

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? In NH. I received notice stating if payment is not made a tax deed will be issued to the holder of the lien pursuant to 80:38. Does that mean I lose my home and have to leave the premises? Is the town the lien holder? Will I be kicked out?

With out seeing the notice it is hard to say. Could this be a scam? Have you verified this letter with the Assessor or someone?

The notice comes from the town I live in. It says "If full redemption of the outstanding 2007 tax lien due amount including statutory interest . . is not made by May 8, 2009, a tax deed will be issued to the holder of the lien pursuant to RSA 80:38 or RSA 80:76".

I just lost my job - am a single mother - don't have the money. Will I be kicked out??? What recourse do I have, if any? What can I do? I was just accepted for loan modification by my mortgage company. I am sure they have been notified yet I have not heard anything from them. Please help.

Go down to the county offices and talk to them about the letter. Either the county or some third party who has paid your outstanding taxes may own your house in the next few months.

**A: it appears that the taxes were not paid and the property sold to the highest bidder. The notice is to advise you of the redemption period.
