What is the name of your state? New York
I made a contract with a plumbing and heating company to replace my oil heater to a gas boiler. I insisted they give me a timeframe that the service would be take and to be completed. They refused to do that and just printed "within reasonable time." So I signed anyway out of frustration from the lack of agreement. The whole replacement should have taken approximately two to three days but it took two hundred and fourteen days! In between those two hundred and fourteen days, I received a violation from the NYC Building Department because of the work without the proper permit. The company did not retrieve a permit to begin their work! I have a court day for this violation and would like to bring up a strong legal argument. Please help!
