I just received a "seizure" notice for a parking ticket that I received 13 years ago.
I thought I had paid this many years ago, but I do not have proof nor have I heard
a thing about this ticket for many (maybe 10) years.
Is there a point where the city (I live in Chicago) can no longer force a person to pay a very old parking ticket?

Yep. When you can PROVE that the ticket has been paid or dismissed, they can no longer force you to pay.

Another, but less tasteful option is death. Paying the ticket would be much easier.

That is odd. Because in NYC, I received a Not Guilty judgement and I was told that I had to keep the paper for 8 years and three months.
I think you better check it out with your local law because no one here responded with a quote from the law books.I beat over 30 parking tickets and won two appeals within one year in NYC
