advice on this parking ticket plz

What is the name of your state? GA

I live on a 3 way intersection in a subdivision where a road can vere to the right or slight left, eventually looping aroound itself. On one side, where it turns to the right, there is a stop sign facing the one direction. I had parked infront of my house, on the other side of the stop sign ( not approaching it face on ) approxiamtely 30 feet away from it. Yet, my ticket is for parking within 30 feet of a stop sign. Although i am perpendicular to it, was I approaching it if it were meant to be for the opposite moving traffic? & how technical can they be regarding feet? I was roughly 28 feet away. Please give feedback on this.
here is the code description....
"Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing signal, stop sign, yield sign, or traffic-control signal located at the side of a roadway" Again, I was not on the same side, so this could be vague, and I was not approaching it since it is not meant for my directed traffic. Thanks.

It doesn't sound vague to me. It specifically states you may not be within 30 feet of it, and you were. Where is the confusion?

You're also asking for leniency since you were only 2 feet within the boundary? Well if they allow 28 feet to pass, then sure they'd allow 26 feet. But since they're allowing 26 feet to slide, why not 24? Where should this line be drawn?

OP -

When a pedestrian is approaching the sign from the other side...are they approaching it? Don't rely on your understanding of the word "approach" - it is not correct.

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out the situation. OK so the road makes a "Y". The branch to the right has a stop sign for people coming into the intersection from the top right. you were parked on the opposite side of the street from the sign facing the opposite direction. Is this correct?
