beating a ticket

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? NY

I need to beat a ticket. Ok, I was illegaly parked in a No Standing zone.
The thing is, I did not see the sign. The block that I was parked on is equivalent to two city blocks. There is only one sign on this huge block. I had to ask the ticket master to show me the sign, and he pointed waaaay down the block. How was I supposed to see that? As I drove down the same avenue, I looked at the other 'normal' sized blocks, and as short as they are, most of them have 2 signs on the block.

I took pics of the proximity of my car and the sign, but I was wondering if there are any sample letters 'out there' with a similar situation such as mine. Any one know of any free websites that may have sample letters or explain what is a city block?
