CA parking ticket.I live in an apt. complex that has given out way more parking stickers than it has spots. First off there is no place to park on the streets within about 1/2 mile. Those spots would be private neighborhoods. I was told when I moved in (now just switched to new leasing company) that both Visitor and Handicap spots are ok to use overnight since they are considered Tenant first. If you get home about 8pm at night you can take up to 40 minutes driving the parking lot looking for a spot. Last night after 3 trips around I used the handicap spot. and the car next to me was also a non handicap person but used that second spot. These are 2 of a few spread out through the complex. This morning I got up to move my car to a spot and I have a ticket for 421 on my window. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks for any info in advance

| You are breaking federal law by using a handicapped parking space without a handicap placard. Pay your fine.

| ok thanks for the info. just makes me mad the leasing company will hand out parking stickers to anyone in the complex friends, girl/boyfriends etc. While people who actually live there can not find a place to park after work.

| The complex did not say you were allowed to park in the handicap spots without a placard... If you don't like the parking situation, take it up with the complex. But don't park in the Handicap spots.

| Do the spots meet the requirements for handicap spots? You should look into that. Also, who gave the citation? The police? or the complex? If it's not a legally enforceable handicap spot, then the police aren't allowed to ticket for it, n'est-ce pas? But if the complex cited you, you're kinda screwed there.
