CA Univeristy ticket...but from ID

States: CA and ID
I received a parking ticket while on a California state school's campus, and it says that if I do not pay the ticket they will notifiy the DMV and I will not be able to re-register my vehicle. However, I am actually from Idaho, and was wondering if this school's parking citation department has any jurisdiction out side of California?
Do I actually need to pay the ticket?
Thanks!

Q: Do I actually need to pay the ticket?

A: I would. My opinion (note that word) is that I do not want California screwing around with my registration and would not want California notifying my state that I am a scofflaw. It is just not worth it.

Well ... you might find that you will have an open collections account if you don't pay it. Som eday when you go to buy a car or get a loan you might have this nasty collections agency dogging you and adding about $250 on top of the original parking violation for their fee.

Cheaper to pay the fine and have piece of mind than to cross your fingers and hope nothing happens.

Google "states drivers license compact" and/or "non resident violators compact". State can and do share info about out of state traffic and vehicle law violators.
