Can I contest "Obstructing Traffic" Parking Ticket ?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
I got a parking ticket in Big Sur, CA because my car was parked in a supposedly lane for thru traffic. There were no clear arrow marks indicating that the area of the parking lot was for traffic to flow thru. There were cars parked adjacent to where I parked by cars and also a car parked facing me. Another car parked next to the car facing me. There were no signs of no parking in that area where my car was parked. Also most cars were pulling out of the parking lot by "going around" the cars parallel to me and other cars parked facing us in an elliptical lane with clear arrow marked thru the circle. I feel this was a delibrate entrappment by Big Sur parking to collect parking fees. This does not appear to me to be a case of "Ignorance of Law" etc. Also does this ticket affect my insurance ? Appreciate any inputs.

Thx,

What section (of the law) is listed on the ticket?

Also, from your description, are you sure it wasn't because the rear of the vehicle was sticking out too much? It doesn't make sense otherwise.

I think that you would need either photographs or a major error on the ticket to have a chance of getting out of it.

Were they cited too? Either way, how do you know they were not illegally parked as well? Just because somebody else parked illegally does not justify your doing the same.

How did they entrap you? Did they tell you to park there and then when you came back they had a citation on your windshield?

Parking violations are NOT moving violations... So they are not taken into consideration when insurance premiums are calculated.

If you don't pay the fine it will affect your ability to renew the registration on your vehicle and might quite possibly affect the registered owner's ability to renew his/her license when that time rolls around. But that is the extent of how a parking citation will affect you.
