Can i sleep in my car??

I live in Nashville, TN and a couple of friends and i were planning to travel to Destin, FL in the near future. To say the least, we are pressed for cash. We would like to be able to just drive down there and sleep in the vehicle we bring. I have no intention to get in any legal trouble in another state 8 hours away from my own, so i am trying to find out if there is a legal way to do this. Can 3 people legally sleep in their car for 2 nights in Destin, FL? and if we can, where and how do we find such an area??
