| Citizen issued ticket What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New Jersey
I'm in NY actually but am asking this for a friend in NJ. Admittedly, while visiting another friend he did in fact park his car on the wrong side of the road facing the wrong direction. If ultimately he has no choice, he is willing to pay the fine.
The police were never called. The owner of the house he parked in front of went to the courthouse 8 days after the fact and issued a ticket himself, actually 2 of them for the exact same offense. One was issued at 4:42pm and the other at 5:27pm. The summons/ticket/complaint doesn't contain any pictures or any references to pictures. The license plate of the car is not on the complaint, but somehow the owner presented the insurance information of the illegally parked car, as well as my friends fathers name on the complaint as he is the registered owner.
My questions are:
1- Can both citations for the same offense in such a short time span be valid?
2- With only insurance information (which we have no idea how he obtained), is the ticket lacking anything on a technicality basis?
3- With a citizen issued ticket, is there anything obvious we can look for to have the ticket dismissed? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? |
