code violation for vehicle registered out of stateWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia Is my vehicle required to conform to Virginia state vehicle codes if it is registered in another state. I am military stationed in Virginia with a vehicle registered in Kansas and my drivers license is also issued from Kansas. I was told by the officer that I am considered a resident because my home base is here in Virginia. I have no voter rights for this county or state. How am a legal resident of Virginia? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? |

What does that mean?I was given a summons by an officer because my vehicle which is tagged out of state does not conform to Virginia State Codes. Does it have to conform to the Virginia codes for me to legally drive it? Last edited by DRAGGINROCKERS; 09-26-2009 at 09:12 AM. |

| IGB answered your question. No, you don't have to license your vehicle in Virginia.
