Driving without front plate in Portland, OR..What is the name of your state? Oregon I got a "fix it" ticket for driving without properly displaying my front license plate. I have had my car for a year and a half and have never had an issue with this. I have never had a front plate on the car and do not want to drill holes through a very nice paint job. I see many hot rods and older vehicles without front plates and am wondering if there is any way to get some sort of exemption approved to dive my vehicle without a front plate. The officer wrote down vialation 803, 540 on the citation. I looked up this rule and only saw reference to modification of plates, nothing about not displaying them at all. Any help is appreciated. This is a very minor thing but non the less an irritant to me as I beleive the officer was profiling me to begin with. ThanksWhat is the name of your state? |

| This is not "an irritant". It is the law. You were not being profiled - you didn't have a front plate and you got a nice fix-it ticket. Fix it and forget it.
