Erroneous Parking Ticket

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I was issued a parking ticket at the place I have never been in my live. It is in LA and I live about 40 mi north of LA. I was not in LA on that day or any other day. It was issue at 3:40 Am. I was sleeping soundly at home on that day. I do not have original citation (under the windshield wiper notice). I just received second notification that I suppose to pay ticket.

I will try to contact Administrator for resolution, but is there another course of action I can take to resolve the issue?

Looks to me that LA is on the fishing expedition to boost their revenue by issue tickets to whoever that think should get one.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Nikolay

You need to get a copy of the original citation to check and see if the vehicle description matches that of your vehicle. If it doesn't then you can argue that the officer made an error when the license plate number was written on the citation. If the description matches that of your vehicle, then you'd have to prove that your vehicle wasn't there... and my guess is that a simple "I was sleeping soundly at home on that day" will fall short.

Cool

If the description and plate on the ticket match, you then need to have a talk with any *other* drivers in your household.

Forty miles isn't far when you want to go have fun in the big city one night.

And...don't take that tone when you go to appeal this. This was an error, not a coordinated attempt to increase revenue.
