expired tags kansas

kansas.

I moved to Missouri recently from Kansas and i have been waiting to register my car in missouri but tags are expired more than 60 days. i got a ticket this morning for not having my car registered and also I didn't have my license in the car with me but it is valid. the cop said just to bring it to the court house and that will be null and void, if i do that how should i handle my expired tags situation. I am obviously going to get my car registered this week, but how much is the ticket going to cost me after i register my car and also do i really have to appear in court? someone please advise! thanks

If you go to court with proof that you are now in compliance with the law, you should see some sort of leniency.
