What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? north carolina.
this is my first ticket been driving for 11 years no moving violations at all. the state trooper said i was doing 80 in a 60 and then wrote me a ticket for a misdemeanor. now on the internet it said speeding and careless and reckless. i was wonder what am i looking at when i go to court?? should i hire a lawyer?? is my license going to be took away since it is my first offense?? please helpWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

A misdemeanor carries a possible jail sentence .. do you think you need a lawyer? Then go find one before you do anything.

In NC a conviction for driving more than 15mph above the speed limit will result in a mandatory 30 day revocation of your license.

This is a Class 2 misdemeanor. Can't see jail for a first time offender.
