Cool

fix it ticket turns into $1500.00 fee. Help please!

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I (thought) I sent in proof of correction(1 tail light out). Also my insurance card that I had in my car had later dates(beginning in July, not June 09'. than the citation date.(I had insurance, just not the tear off form from the bill indicating the June 09' date. I had one that began in July 09'
I had the tail light signed off by my local police officer and sent it in. A week ago I received a collection notice from the Orange County Superior Court, asking for $1554.00. I don't know what to do. I have 3 days including today to go to court. Please help...

well, you can go, show the court the fix it was actually fixed and the actual insurance coverage.

i had something similar happen, the judge showed pity and let me take the regular fee. i stopped doing anything by snail mail that actually NEEDED to be somewhere.

Thank you, Isabella. I now have proof of insurance in hand and the fixit is, well, fixed! This evening I am off to court. Thank you for the sanity. Hopefully Mr or Ms. Judge will be merciful. Thanks again. Barbara
