Got hit with a 27007 (loud music) in CA

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? San Joaquin CA
Even though I have no deck with witch to play music.
However that is not the point. I already know that it is a no points violation, however how much am I expected to pay?

If the ticket does not show how much you need to pay, then you have two options: call the phone number on the ticket, or go to an address printed on the ticket, and ask whomever assists you how much you need to pay.

CA tickets do not have the fine and fee amounts on the citation. That will be provided either in a courtesy notice later on, or when you go to court. If not issued as correctable (and it rarely is), then the fine plus fees should be in the area of $146 pursuant to the 2009 Uniform Bail and Penalty Schedule.

Thank you carl I plan on going to court with evidence (like my car which is missing the deck). and my camera which shows an escalade in front of me playing loud music. I can at least get it reduced. I also have a friend of mine who is on the same police force who can convince the judge to toss the ticket. However 146 is pretty low. BTW, where did you get the fine info? is there some big book I need to buy?

That doesn't prove there was no deck or auxiliary system installed at the time of the stop. Did you point out to the officer that you had no radio or audio system at all? Many people have systems they can remove from their cars, so showing a picture of no deck does not mean that you had no system active at the time.

You had a video camera operating at the time of the stop?

The fine accounting for the $146 has a base fine of $35, it doesn't get much lower than that.

HOW is he going to do that?! Such ex parte communication could get your friend fired. And your friend cannot testify in court as a witness because he was not there. If he had prior knowledge that no audio deck was installed in the car at the date and time HE saw it, then the court MIGHT allow him to testify to that fact, but unless he was present at the stop he cannot assert that no system was installed or operating at the time of your stop.

No, you can find it at California Courts
