Got a parking ticket for a 2hr zone - Los Angeles County, CA

I work in Van Nuys, we have 2 hour parking zones everywhere. So I get to work at 8:20- then move my car at 10:20, etc.

I went to move my car just right now and I had a parking ticket, I clearly was not in violation of the 2 hours especially because the parking "police" had not even driven by me.

How would I go about fighting?

SOMEBODY must have passed your vehicle...tickets don't just magically appear.

Sorry I worded that wrong, I left my car at 8:20 and at that point the parking enforcement vehicle had not passed by me. I had gotten to my vehicle right at 10:20 and I had one written ....

Not everyone here is unhelpful.

Assuming it is a ticket for parking over a 2-hour limit and it does not say when you were "chalked" (I'm learning), I think you should contest it, if only to protest corruption. If other people have reported the same employee, maybe you'll get off. If you can present hard evidence - clock-in time, if that's recorded, or (unrealistically) company video footage of the street or you first entering the building - you might win. It seems unlikely to me that a note from the boss would help, but it might be an option.
