HAND WRITTEN parking ticket

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX

I received a parking ticket or at least think I did... I am not sure if someone got the ticket and then placed it on my vehicle? It is hand written, but on the ticket there is NO NAME written or License Plate... It also states a parking lot that I was not parked in. I was parked in a hospital parking lot and parked along side a curb (like others had done) due to NO AVAILABLE parking. The curb was painted, BUT there was NOT a sign saying no parking and it was NOT written on the curb. My question is this - HOW DO I EVEN KNOW IF THIS TICKET IS REGISTERED TO ME, BECAUSE THERE IS NO NAME OR LICENSE PLATE ON THE TICKET? DID the officer not tag this to me? Am I in the clear? It may not even be my ticket...

When you called the issuing agency and asked, what were you told?

Why would your name be on a parking ticket when it was served on a parked, unoccupied vehicle?

Maybe you don't see a plate because it didn't come through to the service copy. Contact the issuing agency or agency tasked with adjudications and they should be able to check the ticket number.

I called in and stated I was not sure if I got the ticket or someone put it on my car. I then gave her my violation number, and she asked if I had a "letter" in front of it - to which I answered NO. She then said it would not be in her system and I would have to go online and "create" an account for it in order to be paid. SO if I am NOT in their system, does that mean they have no record of this ticket? I am still not convinced this is my ticket anyway.

Sounds strange that they can't track the ticket by number. What agency issued it?

I have run across people who get parking tickets and put them on someone else's car hoping that the other person won't realize that it was a mistake and just pay it. So it's possible that's what happened to you.

There has to be a way to find out if it's yours. Worst case is ignore it and wait to see if you get a reminder in the mail.

Who did you call?
