| Handicap Parking Signage in NYS I recently parked in a handicap space in Rochester NY by accident as the space was very poorly marked. The space is on a bridge downtown and the only immediate marking is a postage stamp sized symbol on the bottom part of the meter located at the bridge railing roughly 6 feet from the curb. The marking was not seen by myself or the 2 other MDs in the car that put quarters in the slot, mainly because the sign is well below any area that you would look at on the meter. There are no markings on the curb, or on the pavement. When I contested the $100 ticket I was denied as the person told me that they could mark the space any way that they desired. This seems like a scam to me. Does anyone know the laws regarding handicap signage? Thanks |
