Handicapped parkingFlorida I am handicapped and had my sticker in place, got out of my car and locked the door, and started to walk to the store. A sheriff deputy stopped me and wanted my drivers license to check it against my handicapped placard. I resisted since I did not want to walk back to my car. She said if I did not do this I would be arrested. Is this legal to do this and what crime did I commit? |

| The officer was verifying that you weren't fraudulently using the sticker. It doesn't sound like you committed any crime. It also doesn't sound like you were cited/arrested for any crime. I'd also like to recommend that you not leave your license IN your car.
