HELP! Traffic Tickets Turned Into WarrantsWhat is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? TX I received 3 tickets in 1 last year for no insurance and expired registration & inspection. I got insurance later that same day. I took care of my expired items 2 weeks later. I went to court for these things about 3 months later. I pleaded my case to the judge but she still found me guilty. I made payment arrangements but I fell on hard times and could not pay them. Now these tickets have turned into warrants for my arrest(commitments). Can an attorney help me or is it too late? |

| Let's see: You committed some crimes and were found guilty. The court set up a payment plan and you didn't follow it and you didn't show up for court when you were supposed to, right? Okay, let's pretend I am your lawyer. Tell me what your defense is to not showing up and not paying (other than "hard times")?

My DefenseI did go to court. I made amends for what I did. I made my wrongs right. However; the judge did not see it this way. The only "excuse" for not paying those tickets is that they totaled over $1000 and average hard-working people like me don't have that kind of money lying around. So on top of having to renew my stickers:$100 and get insurance:$500, I still have to pay the city. The city charges more for my punishment than for the actual crime. That doesn't seem right to me. |

I made amends for what I did. I made my wrongs right. Okay, you committed a crime, you were found guilty, and now you are saying you made "amends" and made your "wrongs right." You can't unring the bell. You stopped co-operating with the court system and I asked you: "Tell me what your defense is to not showing up and not paying (other than 'hard times')?" You did not answer that question. So, what now is your legal question for us?
