Exclamation

I should have learned my leason

What is the name of your state? NY

2 years ago I broke up with my boyfriend.. I now come to find out, he had one of my license plates and put it on his car that wasnt running so he could leave it in the street. Well it got a ticket.. I also foudn out while we were going out I got a ticket on my car that the inspection and registration overlapsed and I got 2 tickets.. He took them off the car so I wouldnt get mad at him because he was supposed to get it done for me...

Now my questions:
1) The car that when we broke up he used one of my plates that he found and got a ticket for expired license plates, it was 2 years ago and I just got a letter in the mail from the county saying it doubled in price because it wasnt paid.. How and is there a way to get out of this...?

2) The two tickets on the car that I had that he took the tickets off Ijust got a letter on those as well that they doubled.. Can i just say I did not see a ticket and this is why it was not paid?? Maybe someone took them off..

3) Am I going to have a problem registering a car, until I pay these tickets?

4) If I get pulled over by a cop will they come up as unpaid and I can be arrested (that what my ex is saying now)

Thanks for any adviced.. Im just so livered I could SPIT!

Thanks

If you have the copy of the police report you filed when you realized your plates were stolen, and it pre-dates the ticket date, then just contact the County and find out where you can send the report.

You can say whatever you like.

You can lie as much as you want, too.

If I were a betting man, I'd say "of course".

Probably not. They may be able to impound/tow your car once the total fines reach a certain amount, but that depends on exactly what county you're located in.
